Yard Supervisor

Objective:
A Yard Supervisor is responsible for the proper delegation and completion of all tasks associated with managing the yard on a daily basis. S/he excels in time management and consistently meets self set and company goals. An employee of this position is professional, and always provides our customers with the highest level of service possible.

Broad Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Instill in your team the meaning and importance of customer service
- Empower staff to use their best judgment in all customer service matters
- Promote and monitor quality of service among staff through training and by acting as a positive role model
- Be personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns
Inventory and Asset Management:
- Accountable for inventory shortages and overages with respect to all items in the yard
- Responsible for ensuring proper maintenance of equipment, buildings and vehicles
- Responsible for yard supplies and inventory requisitions
- Has a duty to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Personnel:
- Delegate work load appropriately and effectively
- Write performance evaluations and goal assessments for yard Laborers and drivers
- Maintain employee attitude and morale by recognizing outstanding performance and service
- Motivate and develop staff in order to encourage their professional development
- Maintain training standards to ensure product expertise which allows for better customer service
- Prepare work schedules for the employees of the yard
- Continuously educate self and staff
